ABOUT THE JOB

This position will report directly to the Global VP IoT and Analytics Business Unit.  The Business Development Director will be a member of the global IoT And Analytics Team supporting Strategic Opportunities in region.  As a Business Development Director at Software AG, you will be a technology solution sales leader within the IoT and Analytics Business Unit working closely with our sales organization to drive business with our top IoT customers.  You will work within a virtual team of technical, partner and consulting resources to help educate your customers and demonstrate/prove out our solutions and exceed quarterly IoT and Analytics Sales Targets.

Responsibilities

  • Take leadership in influencing and shaping customer decisions to buy and adopt Software AG’s IoT and Analytics Product offerings.
  • Present, demonstrate and help execute proof of concepts
  • Work closely with Solution Architects and Product Management to help customers design and architect their IoT solutions
  • Own the global revenue targets for Software AG’s IoT and Analytics Business Unit
  • Drive sales adoption through sales led activities including Targeted account Planning, Account Management and replicating product success at scale.
  • Lead TCO and ROI conversations with customers and field teams as opportunities progress from through the sales cycle.
  • You will be a thought leader in the IoT space.Participate in industry events and help drive IoT and Analytics discussions in internal communities.
  • Ability to build IoT partner ecosystem and leverage partner solutions to help solve end to end needs of the customer.

Requirements

  • 10+ years selling digital technologies to large global customers
  • Must be able to thrive in a fast paced environment working closely with cross functional teams
  • Strong communicator and presenter
  • Collaborative and able to exercise influence with internal stake holders
  • Technical Depth and Breadth to have a decision focused on business outcomes but have the ability to tie outcomes back to Software AG’s IoT and Analytics Product Portfolio
  • Executive Presence to engage with executive stakeholders
  • Performance driven to exceed goals

Education and Experience

  • Bachelors degree in Engineering and an MBA is preferred
  • Minimum of 10 years of relevant business experience (consulting, alliances, sales, etc); history with a successful software company in sales and business development roles
