VP, Product Marketing


We’re looking for a creative, talented, and dynamic VP of Product Marketing for a global enterprise software company. This person will be a key driver of Software AG’s growth through launching new products, enabling a global sales force, designing and leading global campaigns and go to market strategies, and building awareness and thought leadership.


Reporting directly to the CMO, the VP of Product Marketing will be responsible for planning, implementing and managing our “go to market” strategy. This person will lead a global team of marketers responsible for product messaging and positioning, campaign strategy, content marketing, customer marketing and developer marketing.


Additionally, the selected candidate will work closely with our Product Management team to help drive product launches and go-to-market strategy for new features. They will work closely with Sales, Pre-sales and the Sales Enablement teams to enable them to effectively position our products and solutions and differentiate our offerings from our competition.



  • Lead and manage global team of marketers to ensure the success of product sales and awareness
  • Develop and implement the strategy for messaging, promotion and selling of our products
  • Make data-driven decisions to hit company goals
  • Serve as an evangelist for our products through thought leadership and blogging, social media, and speaking
  • End-to-end ownership of product marketing (both strategic vision and tactical execution), including defining the vision and strategy of the Product Marketing team. 
  • Strong experience selling and marketing to enterprise customers on a global scale across NA, EMEA and the Asia Pacific regions.
  • Create sales tools and collateral including presentations, fact sheets, customer case studies, demo videos, white papers and other assets used in sales and marketing campaigns.
  • Partner with the Sales Enablement team to train and support the global sales team and channel partners to articulate product positioning and advantages.
  • Partner with the demand generation and global field marketing teams to design and launch campaigns designed to create measurable pipeline impact and impact brand awareness with key enterprise buyers. 
  • Support the execution of effective lead generation programs through new business and customer-focused field-marketing events, trade shows, PR, webcasts, and online advertising.
  • Support the Analyst and Press Relations teams to increase coverage in key analyst reports as well as in trade, business and national press publications.
  • Develop relationships with key customers, helping to turn these customers into references.
  • Manage a global team of strong product marketing professionals.



  • 10+ years of product marketing experience for a B2B enterprise software or SaaS organization
  • Experience leading global teams
  • Ability to lead and communicate cross-functionally with product management, R&D, sales, professional services, business development and other stakeholder teams across the organization
  • A highly analytical and data-driven approach
  • Sense of ownership and pride in your performance and its impact on company’s success
  • Critical thinker and problem-solving skills
  • Team player
  • Excellent interpersonal and communication skills
  • The ideal candidate will have experience with integration technology, API management, and/or Internet of Things technology solutions targeting IT as well as Line of Business buyers.
  • Experience in cross functional areas such as pre-sales, sales, product management or strategy are a plus.
  • Ability to effectively communicate to stakeholders at all levels of the organization—from the end user (technical buyer) to the decision maker (economic buyer)—with excellent written, oral, and presentation skills.
  • Compelling storyteller with a strategic and analytical mindset who can engage and educate customers and prospects.  Strong presentation skills at both a conference level and 1:1 with specific customers and prospects.
  • Ability to quickly learn new technologies as well as plan and execute on deliverables with minimal supervision.
  • Deep understanding of the marketing and/or product tech categories, with previous experience serving as a subject matter expert.
  • Ability to prioritize projects effectively, juggling multiple projects with tight deadlines.
  • Experience managing events including trade shows, webcasts, and conferences is a plus, with confidence to present to audiences of any size.
