System Administrator

This position is responsible for maintaining IT systems and software for a 15-person software development, QA and support team focused on enterprise and legacy SQL data access. The IT manger is responsible for all hardware and hardware and software maintenance, troubleshooting and support for the systems used by the development team. All physical systems reside on-premise in our Bellevue location. The successful candidate will be competent in both Windows and Unix/Linux administration, have a solid foundation in IT security, a robust problem-solving aptitude with both hardware and software issues and a focus providing high-quality customer service to our colleagues and customers. Experience with OpenVMS and/or Mainframe systems is helpful but not required.

 

Areas of Responsibility

  • Microsoft Windows Active Directory and DNS administration for the development domain
  • Microsoft Hyper-V administration
  • System backups
  • Tier-1 technical support for local users
  • Hardware maintenance, troubleshooting and repair
  • Software maintenance, upgrades and patches
  • Bellevue office security system administration
  • IT budgeting and purchasing
  • Point of contact for corporate IT support and services
  • Supported operating systems and hardware used by the development team
  • Windows desktop and server
  • HP-UX on RISC and Itanium
  • AIX on RISC
  • Solaris on SPARC
  • Linux on x86 (Red Hat, Centos, Fedora, Oracle)
  • IBM Mainframe (z/VM, z/OS, z/VSE, z/Linux)
  • OpenVMS on VAX, Alpha and Itanium
