QA Engineer


CONNX QA Engineer



Software AG is seeking a QA Engineer specialized and experienced in test automation to help take our industry-leading CONNX products to the next level.


From day one you'll join one of our scrum teams and begin using lean methodologies to steadily deliver customer value.  You'll be responsible for the delivery of high quality well-documented features as well as create and maintain reusable test automation infrastructures. You will also be a participant in a full agile lifecycle, from feature definition, to design and implementation.  You and your team will be challenged to work together to continuously improve our methodologies and accelerate the value stream.



  • Academic Degree: BS or MS in Computer Science, or equivalent
  • Professional Experience:  5 years


Special Knowledge:

As a team member, you'll assist our sales engineers and consultants with customer engagements, as well as back up our sustaining engineers to maintain a high level of customer satisfaction. As a full-fledged contributor in a team-directed, relaxed and flexible environment, you'll have plenty of opportunity to make a difference, both in your team and across the organization.


IT Skills:

  • The ideal candidate will have the following skills:
  • Track record of building high quality, performant, scalable, reliable, supportable, usable and secure solutions and test frameworks
  • Strong troubleshooting skills and willingness to put the customer and product quality first
  • Solid verbal and written communication skills
  • Thoroughgoing attention to detail and commitment to quality



  • Solid knowledge in Software Quality Assurance Methodologies.
  • Experience with writing automated tests using open source for automation frameworks
  • SQL, C# and/or VB
  • Familiarity with Build Tools and CI/CD: e.g. Jenkins, Ant, Maven, Groovy
  • Dominant Standards exposure: e.g. XML, HTML, SOAP, HTTP, JMS, REST/JSON
  • Server-side Java, .NET or similar programming experience
  • Experience with Docker a plus
  • UNIX experience a plus


Additional Requirements/ Soft Skills:


  • Experience in product development strongly preferred. 
  • Must be a strong designer, able to efficiently reuse and extend existing automation infrastructure and testing environments. 
  • Experience with databases, security, browser-based clients, and product performance metrics is helpful.
  • Leadership abilities and good judgment based on experience, analytic skills and business domain knowledge; decisive yet pragmatic.
  • Collaborative working style, familiarity with Agile development methodologies.
