Senior Pre-Sales Consultant (Enterprise Architecture)

Position Purpose


We are looking for an experienced Pre-Sales professional, passionate about Business Transformation, and with a strong interest in Enterprise and Business Architecture to join a successful Pre-Sales Consulting team in the UK.


You are a solutions expert within a Pre-Sales team working with market leading solutions focusing on the Enterprise Architecture space. 


You will work primarily with our Account Executives (AEs) to help qualify, quantify and present the business value of Software AG's capabilities in a meaningful and compelling manner to our prospects and customers. Our Pre-Sales Consultants are responsible for understanding the business need, and for identifying and communicating the unique value Software AG can deliver using our extensive portfolio. 


As a valued member of our team you will work on a wide range of opportunities across new prospects, strategic accounts and on deals involving significant revenue, complex sales cycles, and/or strong competition. 


You will be a key contributor to Software AG’s business and revenue goals by providing consistent, high quality, solution expertise to the sales team through all phases of the sales cycle. 

You are responsible for the creation, quantification and communication of materials to explain the unique business value of Software AG's solutions to our prospects and customers.


Key Responsibilities:


  • Support the AEs in qualifying prospects to assure they are well-aligned with Software AG’s go-to market product and solution capabilities.
  • Provide high quality, business-oriented and technical support (Presales lifecycle management) to assure the product-oriented aspects of the sales campaign are strongly aligned with the business objectives of the prospect 
  • Provide briefings to internal sales audiences, including AEs and Partner teams, ensuring they are kept up to date with Software AG offerings in your assigned solution area
  • Create compelling presentations and demonstrations, relevant to a customer’s needs, that evangelize the uniqueness of our value proposition
  • Creation and delivery of POC/POVs and custom demos. Ensure the demonstration fulfills the prospect’s requirements and highlights and differentiates Software AG’s capabilities.


 Qualifications and Experience


  • University degree or higher in computer science, mathematics, business administration or similar subjects 
  • You should have 3-5 years minimum experience in software pre-sales, consulting or professional services in the Enterprise Architecture domain
  • Experience engaging with senior leaders (CxO level) on various solutions and business problems. Able to listen and analyze a prospect’s requirements and present the compelling business value message of a solution
  • Experience with Enterprise Architecture concepts and approaches including architectural frameworks and standards (such as TOGAF, Zachman, BPMN) and delivery concepts including Agile methodologies
  • Experience with Business Architecture concepts (process analysis, business process management, strategy) and the alignment across Business and Enterprise Architecture is beneficial
  • Experience with Enterprise Architecture tooling such as Alfabet, PlanView, Troux, BizzDesign, Orbus, Avolution or similar
  • Proven track record in supporting complex business solutions in the EA space
  • Comfortable working across many industry sectors including financial services, retail, telcos, manufacturing, public sector and more
  • You must be a team player that thrives in a cross-functional team environment
  • You must have excellent verbal and written communication skills
  • Excellent presentation skills and confident in interaction with customers
  • You must be target and success orientated
