Senior Software Engineer* Cumulocity IoT


Location: Düsseldorf (Nordrhein-Westfalen/Germany)

  • You’ll be part of an international scrum team, working out of the Düsseldorf office. Working partially remotely is possible
  • You’ll contribute to a key area of our product: The server-side and gateway infrastructure that connects IoT devices. If you’ve heard about things like CoAP, LWM2M, OPC-UA, MQTT or Lora, that’s awesome, but not required
  • You‘ll contribute your expertise where it is needed: You’ll write Java code and maintain it
  • You’ll implement also different kinds of tests (Unit tests, Integration tests, Scalability test)
  • You’re supporting customers in case things do not run as smoothly as expected
  • You're playing an active role in continuously improving our software stack and its architecture





  • You are a passionate, honest and reliable software developer*
  • Strong proficiency with Java: We’re using Java 11 and common frameworks like Spring Boot, but also some more exotic ones like Eclipse Milo or Eclipse Leshan. You’ve worked in projects with a similar tech stack before
  • Strong knowledge about how to write solid tests in Java (Junit, Mockito)
  • Solid knowledge about computer networking (TCP/IP, UDP). Knowledge about IoT technologies is a plus, but not required
  • Experience working with more complex code bases
  • Experience working with git
  • Having seen other things like C, Rust, Python is a big plus
  • Solid working knowledge with Linux environments
  • Data structures and algorithms make you excited, not afraid
  • You efficiently communicate in English, both verbally and in written form
  • You’re a quick learner. We value talent over experience
