Cumulocity GmbH is a 100% subsidiary of Software AG. We are looking for a Technical Writer* IoT for Cumulocity GmbH at their location in Düsseldorf.

The Technical Writer* provides excellent, comprehensive and up-to-date product documentation for our Cumulocity IoT platform.





In this role you will:



  • Document new features clearly and understandable and keep the UI documentation up to date
  • Review and maintain administrator-focused installation and operation manuals and developer-focused documentation like SDK descriptions and tutorials
  • Show a high level of accuracy with respect to our language, terminology and layout standards
  • Work closely and iteratively with the development team to gather relevant information for the customer-facing documentation and adapt developer input to our documentation standards
  • Follow existing processes to communicate the workflow and track changes (for example in Jira)

This position requires both technical and linguistic skills:



  • University degree in software engineering, technical documentation, linguistics or equivalent field
  • Several years of experience in writing various types of software documentation (UI guides, SDK descriptions, tutorials, release notes) for various target audiences (users, developers, administrators), with a strong attention to details and focus on quality
  • Excellent written and verbal English language skills; German desirable 
  • Experience in working in an authoring environment, authoring in HTML editing tools (e.g. Markdown), and ideally in working in a Git version control system
  • Experience in working in an agile environment and ability to adapt quickly to changing product priorities
  • Strong communication skills and team player in a widely distributed international team
  • Ideally knowledge in one or more of the following fields: Cloud technologies, IoT, REST, Java, Javascript, C#
