OUR TEAM & PURPOSE:

Software AG Cloud is an open and independent cloud platform and your one-stop shop for all Software AG Cloud service offerings. We the Cloud Platform Engineering (CPE) department operate and deploy these offerings in a secure and reliable manner to contribute to our purpose “We connect people and technology for a smarter tomorrow”. We are a diverse and worldwide distributed team of engineers that are working agile with RnD and the Global Support organizations to continuously improve our services.

 

We, the CPE Infrastructure team, are looking for you to:

  • Manage Software AG Cloud environments for stability, security, and satisfaction for optimal customer experiences
  • Provide professional, courteous, and prompt technical engineering support to internal customers and staff with the goal to achieve highest level of customer satisfaction
  • Setup and maintain multiple cloud Dev/QA/Staging/production environments in AWS, Azure, and other major cloud providers
  • Work closely with Development Teams, Cloud Security & Compliance, Sales, Global Support Organization, Managed/Professional Services, and Product Management, to strengthen cloud offerings
  • Establish and enforce governance standards and procedures for the installation and maintenance of systems and data
  • Work in a diverse and international team
  • Demonstrate willingness to grow outside of the job responsibilities by assuming ownership for different not explicitly listed activities
  • Support security and compliance requirements of the Software AG Cloud Platforms
  • Be available to handle incidents 24/7 in an on-call rotation

 

What we expect from you:

  • Must
    • Strong Linux administration skills: CentOS (preferred), RedHat, Ubuntu and Bash scripting
    • Amazon AWS and/or Microsoft Azure experience
    • Understanding of Network administration (VPN, firewalls)
    • Excellent written and verbal communication skills in English
    • Infrastructure as Code with state-of-the-art tools like Terraforming, Helm
    • Service availability and stability
    • Creating and maintaining CI/CD pipelines
    • 3+ years of relevant professional experience
    • IT Related University degree
    • DevSecOps mind set and eager to learn new technologies
    • Very good team player with an attitude to work in an international environment
    • Agile oriented (Kanban)

Familiar with or demonstrated learning initiative in several of the following tools, platforms, or technologies:

    • Configuration Management: SaltStack, Ansible, Chef
    • Hyperscaler Techology: AWS, Azure, Alibaba, GCP
    • Infrastructure Provisioning: Terraform (preferred), Cloud Formation, ARM
    • Container Technology: Docker, Kubernetes, Helm, Argo CD
    • Monitoring and logging: Syslog, Graylog, Zabbix, Kibana, Splunk, Prometheus
    • Networking knowledge: Load Balancing, DHCP, DNS, TCP/IP, HTTP, SMTP, SSL
    • Basic Database Administration: Oracle, MySQL, Mongo, SQL Server, Aurora
    • Scripting languages: Bash, Python, SQL (basic), Ruby, Golang
    • Security: CrowdStrike Falcon, Qualys, DivvyCloud, SSL Certificates
    • Single-Sign-on: Okta, Azure, AWS
    • Software stacks/components: JVM, Tomcat, nginx 
    • Version Control Systems: git, Bitbucket, Github
  • Good to have:
    • Analytic mindset and good with troubleshooting issues
    • Devops experience
    • Self-starter mentality
    • Active Directory - configuration knowledge
