TrendMiner, a Software AG company, delivers self-service data analytics to optimize process performance in industries such as chemical, petrochemical, oil & gas, pharmaceutical, metals & mining and other process manufacturing industries. TrendMiner software is based on a high-performance analytics engine for time-series data that allows users to question data directly, without the support of data scientists. Search, diagnostic and predictive capabilities enable users to speed up root cause analysis, define optimal processes and configure early warnings to monitor production.


Our company is growing fast, so we’re always on the lookout for ambitious and enthusiastic new talent. We are currently seeking an Account Director in our NAM team.

The challenge

We are looking for an enthusiastic Account Director for our global sales team who drives expansion and renewal of TrendMiner contracts. This is a global role, however the focus will be on those accounts with a strong presence or with the main DMU in the NAM region. Together with our Sales, Marketing and Customer Success teams, you are responsible for expanding existing customer engagement to Enterprise level, and often global, contracts. You are result driven, highly self-motivated, ambitious and experienced in process-engineering and/or industrial software sales, preferably in Chemicals and/or Oil & Gas. You have a practical, hands-on mentality. We are looking for a team player who jointly takes responsibility for our company's growth ambition.


Key responsibilities include:

  • Planning, coordination and execution of account strategy, based on our successful Land & Expand strategy. Generating sales opportunities, and reporting status of accounts to the Global Sales Director on a regular basis.
  • Build and manage senior management relationships with your account portfolio.
  • Navigating your accounts methodically to explore and create untapped opportunities.
  • Consistently follow-up on leads and maintain your pipeline
  • Maintain knowledge on different use cases per Industry
  • Understand and support company sales policies and procedures to provide proper and effective service to all customers, and foster the development of long term business relationships.

Required qualities

  • Minimal level of education Bachelors or Masters in a technical Study (preferably Process Engineering / Chemical Engineering, etc)
  • Minimum 5 years' experience in Sales
  • Profound knowledge of the process-industry and its software landscape
  • Ability to manage multiple accounts while seeking new opportunities
  • Ability to understand client needs, and negotiate costs and services
  • Strong interpersonal skills that establish trusted advisor relationships with clients
  • Proficient in English, both speaking and writing
  • Strong presentation skills
  • Goal-orientated (high level and task completion)
  • Self-motivated and proactive, able to execute tasks personally and manage own time
  • Willingness to travel
  • Motivational and inspirational personality
