Solution Architect for IoT and API led Integration



The primary responsibility of the Solution Architect (SA) is to work with clients and prospects, facilitating structured assessments to identify business-oriented solutions with in the IoT and API led Integration area. The Solution Architect should be considered a subject matter expert (SME) around IoT, API and Integration, and have knowledge or experience of presales related activities. The Solution Architect will form part of a team, made up of sales, pre-sales and possibly Professional Services, to conduct sales engagements process to identify the most compelling business initiatives, identifying solution and develop a business case/ROI and solution blueprint and take part in sales related tasks, including demo PoC and PoV, to the target customer/prospect. 



  • Function as an individual contributor leading the IoT and API led Integration tasks during the sales engagement process
  • Work alone or with Pre-Sales and Professional Services Consultants to define customer requirements and needs around IoT and API led Integration
  • Present IoT and API led Integration as part of the sales engagement process , including presentations, demos, PoC and PoV
  • Deliver Business value proposals and Business Cases
  • Provide advice and expert opinion to the Management on market development and solution/proposition development
  • Research and create collateral that can be used in support of the sales organization
  • Develop the skills of the sales people in articulating the Software AG propositions to clients



  • The role will be measured on net new business or new project license revenues and yearly KPIs.
  • The role demands a broad interest and skills mainly within IoT and API led Integration, including product strategy, marketing activities, knowledge of the sales cycle, customer relationship management and potentially public speaking.  Probably from a software industry, partner, customer or customer-facing background, the person who fulfils this role will have credibility with a wide range of external contacts, including technical architects and strategists, C-level in IT and senior business executives.






  • High level of curiosity (market, solution area, product offering, customer situation etc...)
  • Ability to understand customers’ needs and requirements through meetings and interview and analyze the findings of those sessions
  • Ability to support the sales engagement process including building business case/ROI,  presentation and demo to client team
  • Technical solid fiundation (Academic and/or professional), knowledge in programming with Java, Javascript and frameworks like Angular, Bootstrap, React etc...
  • Working with all presales related tasks within the sales engagement together with the sales representative
  • Strong oral and written communication skills with business and technical personnel
  • Totally at ease working with senior manager and IT director as well as developers - becoming the trusted advisor
  • Intuitive, self-starting nature with self confidence
  • Ability to work well in a matrix-managed environment as a self-starting services professional
  • Highly mobile for business travel purposes, clients located in the Nordic countries.
  • Graduate/Postgraduate degree (preferably Master or similar).


  • Several years of experience within either IoT, API led Integration knowledge
  • Strong experience in designated industry vertical
