Software Engineer [Adabas Manager for LUW (Linux, Unix and Windows)]

Adabas Manager is a browser based Application that allows users to interactively monitor and administer Adabas databases running in a distributed  environment on multiple Linux, UNIX, and Windows (LUW) hosts.

 

Tasks & Responsibilities

  • Close cooperation with teams in Germany and USA
  • All task according to the full software development life cycle
  • Analyze, Design and Develop product features
  • Product maintenance
  • Participating in feature / design / architecture work
  • Participating in code, test  and documentation work & reviews
  • Testing & test-automation work
  • Setup and maintain build, installation and promotion process
  • Representing product to internal customers like Sales, GCS, GS
  • Support GS in case of customer defects and escalations
  • Participating in training work, provide training material
  • Documentation work according to the task listed

 

Skills

 

Required:

  • Knowledge in programming languages like Angular, JAVA, React JS
  • Experience in Java / J2EE and corresponding frameworks and tools like Ajax, JavaScript, OSGI
  • Experience in scripting languages like shell scripts, perl or similar
  • Knowledge about job control systems like Jenkins
  • Experience in developing browser based applications, web services and REST API
  • Experience in Eclipse based development environments
  • Experience in developing enterprise standard software with high quality/performance
  • Operating systems knowhow: Windows, Linux, Unix
  • Good communication skill
  • Comprehensive skills in verbal and written communication in English to be member of an international development team
  • Open minded team player

 

Advantageous:

  • Basic product knowhow about Adabas and Natural

 

Preferred (but not essential in all topics):

  • Knowledge about source management systems e.g. subversion. GIT
  • Web technologies, Web services
  • Experience to lean and agile development methodologies (Scrum, Kanban, …)
  • XML Technologies, JSON, REST API
  • Exposure to different operating systems and tools
  • Debugging and Diagnosing skills
