Account Executive, Integration East.


We are seeking an Account Executive to sell into whitespace accounts. These accounts can be any revenue size and cross all industries excluding Govt. and Education. The product portfolio includes the entire Software AG portfolio of software. The successful Account Executive will be skilled in prospecting into accounts, establishing relationships, understanding the potential and leveraging teammates in both inside selling and technical selling roles to close business across a large number of accounts in a multi-state territory. This is a hunter role in a target rich environment.


The Account Executive is supported by a sales team which includes multiple inside sales reps, dedicated technical sellers and sales development reps to expand the Software AG customer base.  As this is a team selling environment, team leadership and communication skills are key. The product portfolio spans many technologies essential to companies implementing digital business strategies.  Competition is keen in this sector so understanding competitive offering will also be a key skill.


Software AG offers both software and services solutions for :

  • Business and IT transformation, Cloud and hybrid integration, API Management, B2B, IPaaS, Data and Analytics and Internet of Things Connectivity and Solutions.


Tasks and Responsibilities:

  • The Account Executive is part of a virtual sales team along with other Software AG lines of business and is responsible for selling the entire Software AG solutions portfolio in her/his territory.
  • Achieve/exceed quarterly and yearly revenue targets using approved SAG business planning, account management, opportunity management, and monitoring processes tools.
  • Drive and penetrate new accounts and meet with stakeholders (C level) within accounts selling collaboration solutions
  • Accurately forecast and report on opportunities within the assigned territory.
  • Build key management relationships with focus on new opportunities, customer success and satisfaction, resulting in referenceable accounts and positive brand/company awareness.
  • Teach customers insights and tailor solutions to challenge their approach to key corporate priorities and create a value proposition



Academic Degree:

BA/BS degree or equivalent and familiarity with internet technologies


Professional Experience in year(s)  2 - 5  years prior experience selling software based solutions, specifically into targeted new name accounts with deal sizes that range from $50K - $250K

  • Excellent prospecting skills using multiple tools and methods to effectively prospect across a large number of accounts.
  • Excellent verbal, presentation and written communication skills.
  • Excellent presentation skills and interaction with internal/external customers.
  • Experience developing and presenting clear and concise sales briefings/meetings.
  • Ability to understand customers' business, needs, challenges and expectations.
  • Shows personal commitment, strong leadership skills and experienced in working in a collaborative environment.
  • Enhance personal business solution selling skills and highly developed selling, customer relations, and negotiation skills.
  • Effectively matrix manage and influence across a large complex organization
  • Demonstrable success in meeting and exceeding a $1.1 M quota and have achieved premium sales "club" recognition
