We are looking for a strategic, results-oriented marketing operations leader who will manage planning, processes, and systems for our marketing team, and help us stay on course with a digital-first, data driven approach in optimizing our lead-2-revenue growth engine.


In this unique role, the Director of Marketing Operations and Technology will have a significant impact in the transformation journey for Software AG.


You will be a change agent responsible for helping to define our digital transformation roadmap, establishing centers of excellence in performance marketing campaigns, driving the MarTech strategy, and establishing a premier marketing operations team.  As a member of the Growth Marketing leadership team, you will help deliver the strategy for our pipeline management, investments, tools and budget that align to the needs of the business.


Key to success in this role will be an ability to manage multiple agendas from the Senior Leadership Team and collaborate effectively across the organization, while using well developed influencing skills to deliver the required outcomes of Marketing.


Primary Responsibilities

·       Through data and analytics, lead the effort to develop a performance-based digital marketing organization, focused on the audience journey.

·       Ensure that marketing measurement drives performance review of key functions and campaigns including lead management processes and metrics, lead scoring, campaign execution and tracking, budget to pipeline and revenue, marketing automation systems, database health, and market segmentation

·       Build and lead a premier, performance-based marketing operations team

·       Provide dependable advice and consultation to the VP of Growth Marketing, the CMO, and MLT, leveraging marketing performance data

·       Ensure impact-level marketing measurement and executive reporting on marketing’s contribution to the business. Actively monitor, analyze and report on the health of marketing contribution to pipeline, ROI, and customer acquisition costs.

·       Build and maintain a marketing technology stack that meets the needs of the business, is effective in engaging customers, provides scale to our customer communications, and drives efficiencies to hyper-scale pipeline and revenue growth

·       Lead data strategy development and infrastructure deployment, including technology ownership and marketing process governance

·       Improve Marketing data quality and transparency.

·       Provide best practices guidance for infrastructure, processes and data that achieve efficiency and effectiveness goals

·       Orchestrate the annual marketing planning and budget process (e.g. milestones, participants, actions, templates, calendar), ensuring marketing’s goals are aligned with sales and product objectives

·       Collaborate with marketing & GTM leaders to achieve alignment with the corporate strategy.



·       Bachelor's degree with 10+ years in B2B marketing operations in enterprise and/or SaaS based companies

·       Expertise with marketing automation systems (Marketo,, 6Sense, Drift, Adobe & Google Analytics, Tableau, and Data Lake creation)

·       Experience in developing and optimizing lead management and campaign management processes

·       Passionate about customer success and technologies that impact companies and their customers

·       Demonstrated leadership skills, both in building teams and influencing company direction

·       Ability to manage multiple priorities in fast-paced environment, work collaboratively with cross-functional teams, and ensure high quality deliverables with attention to detail

·       Data-driven mindset with an affinity for ‘making the number’ and being able to attribute and track results to drive a positive ROI on all marketing activities

·       Passion for global business and culture. Proven leadership capabilities with the ability to understand multiple market dynamics, identify opportunities to drive growth, and effectively manage change

·       A hands-on, “can do” attitude, and a drive for outcome focused performance

·       Proven ability to partner and collaborate across key functional areas such as sales, IT and product.

·       Extraordinary experience in establishing metrics and dashboards that enable core focus on performance across the organization (especially in partnership with sales)

·       Technical acumen related to digital customer experiences

·       Effective oral, written and interpersonal communication skills, with strong presentation skills
