Global Events Manager



Candidate will be responsible for the management of global Software AG events.  The successful candidate will be responsible for all aspects of tradeshow and event planning to include researching appropriate shows, developing marketing event plans and timelines, identifying speaking opportunities, pre- and post-show promotion, as well as the execution of all planned logistics specific to each trade show and/or event.


Essential Job Functions 

Trade Show Management

  • Responsible for project management of global tradeshows as assigned. To include primarily hyperscaler events.
  • Determine the best strategy delivering maximum results for Software AG and communicate best practices to events team to leverage these best practices
  • Manage project plan documents for all tradeshows, including budget management, staffing and communication of details to participants
  • Determine and source external vendors such as booth builders for larger shows
  • Coordinate all booth deliverables with internal clients: presentations, messaging, etc.
  • Onsite event management and coordination as necessary
  • Manage all aspects of the post-event reporting process, which includes communicating lead capture methods, ensuring leads are returned promptly and categorized appropriately, and handed off to the lead management team for timely follow up


Global Events

  • Assist with the management of Software AG internal global corporate events including annual Sales Kick-Off, user conference, sales incentive program, and various other employee-based events as required.
  • Oversee event planning, management and logistics, budget, hospitality, promotion, staffing and messaging and event production
  • Maintain and update the marketing event listings on corporate website





  • Position is based in Reston, VA.   
  • 30% travel required, both domestic and international



  • Excellent interpersonal skills, with strong oral and written communication skills
  • Ability to manage and prioritize multiple concurrent assignments and collaborate effectively with other team members globally
  • Strong ability to work well under pressure with multiple deadlines, provide superior attention to detail, and ability to troubleshoot unplanned circumstances
  • Must be able to do some strenuous physical activity , including lifting, carrying and moving boxes and be able to stand for occasional prolonged periods of time
  • Must have high-energy work ethic and be able to travel and work non-standard business hours throughout the year


Education and Experience

  • 5+  years of experience executing events in the technology industry
  • B.S. Degree in Marketing or related field (desirable)
  • Knowledge of Cvent event registration software
  • Intermediate Excel and PowerPoint
  • CMP Preferred, but not required
  • Experience working with vendors related to event management, including graphic designers, booth distributors and external event managers
