HR Specialist 

 

Software AG is looking for an HR Specialist to support our growing team! The HR Specialist is a hybrid role that encompasses employee relations, (United States) immigration and work authorization, as well as general HR duties.  Our ideal candidate will partner with the organization to provide HR policy and procedure guidance, balance risk and business needs, and uphold our culture and commitment to our employees.  

 

Please note that in-depth knowledge of employment and immigration law is preferred. 

 

About The Job

 

Immigration  

  • Act as a point of contact for immigration inquiries from managers, employees, recruitment team, and attorneys on all immigration and work authorization related matters.  

  • Ensure all work authorization and immigration documents are collected, completed accurately, saved in the applicable files/systems, and submitted (if necessary) in a timely manner. 

  • Process all visa and green card actions, partnering with the Manager, HR Operations and Employee Experience Manager as applicable. 

  • Maintain internal Work Authorization Tracker; monitoring expiration dates with diligence and accuracy, taking appropriate action as needed. 

  • Maintain and process all I-9s, reverifications, removal of I-9s by retention dates as well as immigration audits. 

  • Maintain in-depth and current knowledge of employment and immigration law to help reduce legal risk and ensure regulatory compliance; partnering with internal and external attorneys as needed. 

  • Other duties as assigned. 

 

Employee Relations 

  • Provide guidance on employee relations matters for specific business units – increasing employee engagement, talent management, conducting investigations, managing disciplinary actions, promotions, mediating conflict, and supporting constructive resolutions/coaching. 

  • Act as change agent, proactively identifying organizational issues that limit effectiveness and collaborate with HR colleagues to develop and deliver practical solutions.  

  • Serve as project/technical lead on projects both within HR and across functions.  

  • Partner with regional talent acquisition teams on diversity initiatives and reporting.

  • Other duties as assigned. 

 

About You

  • Excellent organizational skills and strong attention to detail 

  • Bachelor’s degree or equivalent experience  

  • 1 to 3 years of experience as a Human Resources practitioner, ideally with experience as an HR Generalist and/or in U.S. immigration (emphasis on the processing and administration of CPT, OPT, STEM OPT, blanket Es, E-3s, F-1s, H-1Bs, H-1B CAPs, blanket Ls, L-1As, L-1Bs, TNs and all phases of green card processing – recruitment, PERM, I-140, and AOS/I-485) 

  • HRIS experience (preferably with Workday)  

  • Experience in the technology sector and across complex multi-national organizations is preferred
