IT System Engineer

Software AG is seeking an IT Systems Engineer to join our Information Technology Department.  We are looking for a dedicated individual to join the Modern Workplace Team. The global acting team (GAT) Modern Workplace is committed to deliver the best and most secure service to our customers (internal employees).

 

We deploy new solutions for hardware, software, and services to our users. This includes all end user device classes like PC platform, smart phones, tablets and much more. Our main goal is to discover future-oriented solutions and implement them into daily business. Some of these solutions will be handed over to other global acting teams like the User Service Center or external service Providers. Some of them will be made available to all users but remain under control of the Modern Workplace team. When the future becomes present, concepts and projects become daily business. A healthy balance between maintenance and improving these services as well as discovery of new solutions is mandatory.

 

TASKS

  • Create, supervise, and manage multiple stakeholder groups to present and test ideas, capture, document and condense gathered requirements
  • Research and propose new tools to support the Modern Workplace Team goals
  • Lead and manage projects related to solution implementation and change management
  • Maintain detailed documentation of project work and tasks in relevant systems
  • Create and update team owned SharePoint web content
  • Monitor daily business usage and compliance reports. Report on trend analysis and create/modify reports to support the business and innovate solutions
  • Troubleshoot reported issues and provide sustainable and innovative solutions
  • Support the User Services Center by creating and updating Information around new tools and solutions. Serve as the link between both teams to keep information and feedback flowing consistently.
  • Occasional travel required

 

PROFILE

  • Completed IT trainings or comparable studies
  • At least five years of professional experience in software and hardware management
  • Extensive knowledge of Microsoft Windows, macOS, and iOS; their adaptation and administration. Linux is welcome as well.
  • Experience with Azure Active Directory
  • Experience with the administration and permissions control in the client environment
  • Experience in end-user architectures, including infrastructure, security, data and networking
  • Ability to work in a structured environment, as well as independently
  • Excellent communication and teamwork skills
  • Expert-level knowledge in Microsoft Office 365
  • ITIL 4 Certification optional
  • Excellent written and verbal English language skills, German language knowledge welcome
