Professional Services Project Controller / Operations Analyst

As a member of the Professional Services Americas Project Management Office (PMO), the Project Controller / Operations Analyst supports the regional professional services business within the context of Software AG’s larger, global setting.  S/he provides key project control operational support to the engagement delivery team, working directly with the account executive who sold the professional services as well as with the multiple project managers who lead up delivery of those services. 

 

The Project Controller / Operations Analyst is a trusted partner on all project matters, including defining, summarizing, documenting and socializing the financial snapshot of the project to help management achieve operational goals. This may include collaborating with the regional Resource Management Office for resource allocation of either on-staff consultants or vetted subcontractors or a blended delivery model.

This individual monitors and delivers analyses about current and forecasted project financial performance (revenue, cost, margin) vs. baseline, program risk management, invoicing /cash collection, tracking time entry and approvals for timesheets along with contractual compliance.  S/he collaborates with project teams and colleagues to resolve financial, contractual and operational challenges.

  • Work with Project team and Accounting to drive monthly close, to ensure cost and revenue accruals, and revenue processed in a timely manner, in accordance with established policies and procedures; Upon close, extract actuals data against project forecast/budget/guidance to complete variance analysis for project/portfolio reviews.
  • Monitor project progress to ensure on time and on budget delivery per project governance practices and processes.
  • Monitor and proactively manage resource and schedule changes and project scope adjustments.
  • Monitor monthly backlog data and pipeline against plan/forecast.
  • Support responses to internal and external reporting needs regarding individual project/business unit level financials using multiple systems of record.
