Senior Consultant acts as an Integration and API expert and designs and develops quality webMethods solutions in a customer-centric manner while leveraging Software AG Professional Services methodologies and best practices. Utilizes technical/functional skills to assist customers to create and implement successful and innovative webMethods solutions that run, manage, and optimize their key business processes while decreasing costs and inefficiencies. Senior Consultant position necessitates technical leadership in customer projects and a team role in the Int/API practice. A successful candidate will also be able to help customers in implementing successful solutions, delivering formal education courses, coaching, and mentoring on webMethods Integration and API products.

Job Description

Working in close collaboration with Professional Services Project/Delivery Manager, License Sales, Int/API Product Management, Int/API R&D and Professional Services Sales, Senior Consultant will: 

    • Technically Lead Integration & API solution delivery across various Software AG Professional Services offerings in these areas:
        • Foundational Integration and API Projects
        • Foundational B2B/EDI Projects (a plus)
        • Int/API Fast Track offerings
        • Performance Tuning
        • Upgrades
    • Deliver formal educational services courses and support with courses development
    • Deliver mentoring and coaching engagements to customers
    • Evaluate customers' requirements and build methodologies & frameworks
    • Ability to technical lead junior PS Consultants as well as customer development teams on customer projects
    • Support Professional Services Sales in scoping services for delivery of Int/API Solutions
    • Support Presales in POC projects
    • Support customers with Int/API solutions performance testing – OnPrem/Cloud
    • Gather and analyze technical and functional requirements
    • Design and Develop Int/API solutions to meet customer requirements
    • Support Project Manager with defining and planning required tasks for Int/API Solution delivery
    • Collaborate with Software AG R&D, Product management and Int/API Business Unit teams on products’ features and capabilities
    • Be a Technical Team Lead in Professional Services Int/API Practice in guiding, enabling, mentoring and knowledge sharing with Int/API practice junior team members
    • Contribute to Software AG PRIME Delivery Methodology

 

The Int/API Senior Consultant may work remotely and/or onsite at the customer location, depending upon specific customer, customer project and project phase.  S/he may be required to travel up to 75% of the time. Fluency in English is a requirement.

  • As a Technical Lead, Senior Consultant has a strong business impact and is expected to technically lead Integration and API projects:

40% (Approx.) Project Delivery: Working closely with Client and SwAG Project Managers to successfully deliver the engagement. This could be in a technical (review, analysis, design, development, and delivery of SAG solutions) and/or a team technical leadership (mentoring the team; executing and completing assigned engagement within the time, scope, and budget) role, to meet client expectations

40% (Approx.) Training Delivery: Deliver formal webMethods training courses to customers as well as informal mentoring and coaching engagements; support with training development as required; support with customer training scoping and planning.

10% (Approx.) Business Development: Support PS Sales and PS Delivery Managers with SOW and LOE development.

10% (Approx.) Practice Support: Support practice enablement, junior team member mentoring, knowledge sharing, reusable tools, methodology contributions, and Go- to Market initiatives

    • Average expertise in Java Programming and JVM aspects
    • Knowledge of general system analysis and design processes
    • Expertise with the Authentication Protocols such as LDAP, SSO (Kerberos, SAML2), SSL collected
    • SOAP, RESTful WebServices, XML/JSON expertise
    • Proficiency with SQL, schemas / meta-models and relational database databases (Oracle or MSSQL-Server preferred)
    • Should have experience working with an application development life-cycle methodology as well as participating in JAD sessions and performing user requirements definitions
    • Ability to solve technical issues while training customer teams
    • Expertise in J2EE (a plus)

    • Team-oriented approach to project work and problem solving – willingness to work closely with others and to mentor junior practice team members
    • Must have excellent interpersonal skills and be able to gain clients confidence and maintain a professional relationship with clients, peers, and management
    • Demonstrated ability to work under pressure and to tight deadlines
    • Proven innovator and track record of quickly adapting approaches /skill set to meet the needs of changing technologies

Education and Experience

  • Bachelor’s degree (B.S.) in Computer Science or a related field
  • Minimum of 5 years directly related work experience
