Security Operations Engineer

About the job:

The Security Operations Engineer will be responsible for developing, enhancing, and executing cyber security operations, real-time security analysis, investigations, incident response, evidence and forensics. The SOC Engineer will provide recommendations to reduce security threats to company systems, perform network monitoring, analyzes network traffic from SIEM and IDS data and various enterprise security tools. The SOC Engineer will perform and leads incident discovery, verification, containment, recovery, and participate in the creation or improvement of company security policies and procedures and assist with evaluating new products and technologies.

  • Maintaining security controls, suitable knowledge of threats, risk assignment, remediation strategies, security tools, testing techniques
  • Recognizes problems by identifying abnormalities, reporting violations
  • Participate in security assessment activities, determines security violations
  • Implement security improvements by analyzing current situation, evaluating trends, anticipating requirements
  • Perform web applications security assessments, vulnerability scanning and testing
  • Create hardening guides and ensure environment consistency according to them.
  • Serves as a point of contact for security related issues incl. cybercrime

About you:

  • 2+ Years of experience in related areas (Threat Hunting, Threat Analysis, Security Incident Response Experience)
  • Good knowledge with modern metrics, monitoring, logging frameworks and SIEMs (e.g. Splunk)
  • Good knowledge in vulnerability scanning software
  • Familiar with standard security concepts, practices, and procedures
  • Experience with IT systems, security management and concepts
  • Fluent English language skills
  • Strong verbal and written communication skills
  • Security Certifications like CEH, CISSP, CISA are preferred
  • Penetration testing experience would be ideal
  • Familiarity with DDoS protection is a plus
