Senior Manager, Field Marketing



SoftwareAG is looking for a high performing, customer-centric, modern marketer passionate about generating demand and pipeline growth to join our Americas field marketing team. The Sr Mgr, Field Marketing will be responsible for designing intelligent, integrated, coordinated multi-touch marketing programs that leverage both inbound and outbound tactics. In this role you'll work with the Head of Americas marketing to drive revenue growth by developing and executing programs that will maximize potential selling opportunities for our North America sales teams across our market segments. 


The successful candidate will bring passion, ambition and an entrepreneurial spirit to the role and will have demonstrated a proven track record of success in driving account-based marketing results.  Along with a tight alignment with the North America sales teams, this person will also work in partnership with multiple disciplines inside corporate marketing to drive visibility, engagement and demand in target accounts including global campaigns, digital and corporate marketing, product and industry marketing, and partner marketing.


About the Job:

  • Partner with sales management to ensure the development of effective demand generation campaigns that drive pipeline growth within Integration & API markets.
  • Develop new logo acquisition strategies in the Integration & API space.
  • Jointly develop account-based growth strategies in partnership with enterprise and commercial sales on specific, prioritized accounts.
  • Design, develop, execute account-based marketing programs and activities to target profiles in Software AG's named accounts.
  • Develop and execute a robust contact and persona management and engagement strategy for target accounts, inclusive of messaging aligned to customer objectives, the right mix of marketing tactics to engage the account and marketing support during and after the sales process.
  • Ownership and accountability of KPIs and success measures to drive growth in the accounts.
  • Measure, analyze and report on the impact of field marketing plan on sales pipeline revenue (marketing sourced and influenced). 
  • Articulate the specific needs of the region (territory and target accounts) to Global Campaigns team in order to develop and execute relevant programs focused on target market/audience.
  • Partner with different product and industry teams to represent their specific messages in the account’s marketing plan.
  • Partner with operations teams to understand customer journey, behavior and trigger points and identify targets for specific marketing programs.
  • Partner with Digital team to execute media, social and nurture programs.
  • Partner with Partner Marketing to drive programs for partners within accounts.
  • Develop and provide ongoing sales enablement to ensure alignment and consistency.
  • Understand and keep up with technology industry trends that impact the Integration & API segment.


About You:

  • Laser focus on the customer and a deep understanding of the customer's business opportunities and challenges.
  • Successful track record of developing and executing account-based marketing programs, inclusive of executive level, customer facing marketing programs and internal strategic sales engagement.
  • Proven ability to develop strong, executive level, outcomes-oriented content and messaging mapped to specific personas.
  • World class planning, program management and analytical skills
  • Exceptional written and verbal communication skills.
  • Strong interpersonal skills with proven, demonstrated ability to work cross-functionally, and build and maintain successful relationships internally and externally
  • Highly motivated, self-starter who thrives under tight deadlines; quick learner with a "roll up the sleeves" approach and attention to detail.
  • Ability to leverage data and insights in the development of marketing plans
  • Highly empowered, self-starting personality essential.
  • Ability to translate business objectives into marketing goals and measurements.
  • Strong operational command of the business, including metrics’-based goals and achievement approach – extending beyond demand generation metrics to include “next” marketing metrics around social and online activities.
  • Ability to synthesize program results and effectively enable upstream feedback to campaign teams to influence development of future marketing programs.
  • Strategic approach to problem-solving and proactive troubleshooting abilities.
  • Extremely resourceful - leveraging all resources both internal and external to drive business performance.
  • Strong presentation skills.


Your Experience:  

  • 8+ years of experience in B2B marketing, with demonstrable track-record in demand generation, field marketing, campaign execution, and pipeline contribution within the enterprise software market, especially in the Internet of Things space
  • Proven expertise and results in demand generation for SaaS/B2C.
  • 5+ years of direct experience driving account-based marketing programs.
  • Experience in IoT, analytics, integration space a plus
  • Experience marketing to vertical industries, specifically manufacturing, retail, banking, transportation/logistics, a plus
  • Highly proficient in MS Office (Word, Excel and PowerPoint); CRM tools such as; Marketing Automation tools like Marketo highly desirable.
  • Bachelors required.
