Our product management team is looking for a charismatic skilled product manager, who is highly focused to drive customer adoption and product innovation for our award recognized CONNX data integration platform.

 

Job description

This position is responsible for working within the Product Management team of the Adabas & Natural / Legacy Modernization Business Unit (BU) in developing and executing the CONNX product portfolio strategy. In this role the candidate will help drive the strategy and product vision of the CONNX data integration platform within the BU, with a high degree of ownership and experience.  The role requires agility to work on different aspects such as managing product roadmaps, market analysis, partnership with go to market teams, field enablement, and other priorities as required for the business.  This is a cross functional role which requires you to work closely with Software AG R&D, Global support, Sales/Pre-Sales, Partner, Marketing & Communications teams.

 

Key goals of the position

  • Help define product strategy working with the Product Management leader and drive execution of the strategy working with the cross functional teams.
  • Lead key projects or major product workstreams related to Software AG data integration and application modernization business to ultimately drive improved market execution
  • Partner with regional sales/presales teams to validate the product strategy and be the sounding board for new product launches
  • Represent the customer and be the champion and the voice of the customers. Build strong relationships with both business partners and customers to bring their voice to ensure implementation success
  • Articulate product benefits to customers or groups of customers, highlighting both technical and business benefits (value proposition)
  • Maintain a high level of expertise regarding data integration and competitors - their products, pricing, go-to-market strategy and market trends.

 

Essential job functions

  • Managing the entire product life cycle from strategic planning to tactical activities (e.g. pricing, feature management) of your products by gathering and translating customer business needs into technical product requirements
  • Identify, prioritize, structure, and manage complex issues that drive priorities and demonstrate bottom line results
  • Manage projects, problems, collaborating and coordinating with stakeholders
  • Be a passionate advocate and evangelist for CONNX data integration solutions, both internally and externally.
  • Drive effective communications across organizations; work collaboratively with the marketing, sales, presales, support, and engineering teams
  • Work with sales and marketing team members to create the frameworks and tools needed to successfully sell, implement solutions
  • Work with partners (e.g., Microsoft Azure, AWS) to develop new business opportunities or build new features
  • Create and deliver presentations and demos at internal and external events
  • Ability to multitask, prioritize and to work independently

 

About you (skill requirements):

  • 5-8 years of product management or product owner experience (or similar roles, e.g. solution architect, technical consultant) in driving product development with a cross-functional team in an agile environment.
  • 8+ years of in-depth experience with data integration technologies such as ETL/ELT, Data streaming/replication, Data virtualization and SQL access in distributed enterprise environments
  • Breadth of experience or knowledge on a wide spectrum of databases (legacy, relational, big data and cloud) residing on platforms that include mainframe, OpenVMS, IBM i (AS/400), UNIX®, Linux® and Windows®
  • Ability to uncover, understand and translate customer business challenges and concerns into a solution-oriented discussion effectively and derive a prioritized feature backlog and technical product roadmap
  • Enjoys collaborating in an international team culture with emphasis on execution, delivery, and structured planning.
  • Passionate thought leader, excellent presenter, and communicator with a customer-centric attitude.
  • Ability to dive deep technically when working with R&D and to up-level product positioning and messaging when working with sales and delivering marketing assets.
  • BS or Master of Science in Computer Science/Engineering or a similar field.
  • Domestic and international travel required

Additional requirements:

  • Experience in enabling partners and sales with a focus on value / consultative selling.
  • Technical knowledge about API/integration platforms and legacy modernization solutions.
  • Basic understanding of IBM mainframe applications/data
