Provide technical and strategic leadership and project management for two core audiences (1) customers of region GCS Clusters and (2) internal teams within Software AG, including GCS, PMM, R+D Support and Sales.

Architect, develop and implement innovative and appropriate business solutions offering clear value proposition, enabling our customers to run and optimize their key business processes. Review existing customer infrastructure, architectural, organizational and operational processes to validate efficiency and effectiveness and, as warranted, propose recommendations for improvement.

The purpose of this role is to work as a member of the GCS North America Team.


Key requirements for this role:

  • Gather information about customer’s business problem to fully understand pain points, motivators/drivers, interdependencies, SLAs and other success factors.
  • Analyze problem to determine appropriate Software AG solution (Digital Business Platform products and approach).
  • Design/construct solution to address the business problem.
  • Identify potential project risks and develop mitigation plans.
  • Leverage Software AG solution development methodology and best practices to maximize quality and consistency.
  • Validate solutions developed by others to ensure viability given client objectives, timeframe, environment and infrastructure.
  • Provide both technical support and strategic, business-oriented leadership on customer and internal projects.
  • Demonstrate project management skills, delivering quality throughout the life-cycle of complex projects involving multiple interest groups.
  • Willingness to take on new challenges and environments.

  • BS Computer Science or Higher
  • 15 Years Professional Experience

Special Knowledge:

  • Provide direction on projects of all sizes and complexity and leadership across organizational and functional boundaries at client site. 
  • Ensure high satisfaction for our clients by managing their expectations and facilitating communication with all parties on the engagement team through the promotion and development of strong working relationships.
  • Must have the ability to perform Architecture Assessments and provide Customer Best Practices for Implementation.
  • Participate in expanding the GCS global and regional teams through selection, development (Train, coach, mentor) and evaluation of personnel. Look for opportunities to increase sales of Software AG products and services.
  • Advanced troubleshooting knowledge – must be able to troubleshoot product and application in a client environment.


IT Skills:

  • Strong understanding of business application of webMethods product suite: web services, process enablement, monitoring, specific product solutions.
  • Business process definition and documentation which may include EPC, BPEL, BPMN, UML, etc.
  • Expert level experience in Universal Messaging, Integration Server, API Management, B2B and Containerization a plus!
  • Vertical application/ industry technical experience, including experience with appropriate software applications for example: CRM, eTom, ITIL, Supply Chain, B2B.
  • Experience troubleshooting Universal Messaging Troubleshooting and Performance Tuning.
  • Have working and implementation experience with DevOps Methodology.

  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills; ability to interact with internal and external teams; presentation, organizational and planning skills. 
  • Superior presentation skills – ability to lead and perform Product Demos with ease
  • Develop project plans for individual tasks and for others assigned to the project as required; work with minimal direction.
  • Experience working with an application development life-cycle methodology as well as participating in JAD sessions and performing user requirements definitions.
  • Excellent interpersonal skills. Ability to gain client’s confidence and maintain a professional relationship with clients, peers and management.
  • Versatility. Ability to work simultaneously with multiple clients, client projects and different Software AG Organizations with ease.
