DevOps Engineer/IOT


This position is available in Sofia.



Software AG is increasingly focusing on managed services business by providing customers with an entire service portfolio. This portfolio consists of different services which will be managed by a managed services team, who are responsible for managing the infrastructure as well as customer’s platform related operations.



  • Maintain and monitor customer environments in the area of our product stack Internet of Things (IoT). Plan and apply fixes, patches, and upgrades
  • Manage customer’s environments for stability, security, and satisfaction for optimal customer experience
  • Willingness for 24/7 on-call duty
  • Gather and analyze metrics from both operating systems and applications to assist in performance tuning and fault finding
  • Provide assistance to the team with the 2nd level technical support tasks
  • Manage and operate environments of our global customers with industry leading targets in aspects of availability and quality
  • Understand the existing software solution; propose, develop, and implement potential improvements
  • Keep customers informed, set and follow up on commitments, keep precise case documentation and case ownership

•         Develop working knowledge of supported products and technologies as well as applicable technical support debugging tools

  • Potential to grow within the team and role



  • 3+ years of relevant professional experience
  • Strong Linux administration skills
  • Experience with one of the big hyperscalers (e.g. MS Azure)
  • Hands-on experience with container solution like Kubernetes
  • Networking knowledge: Load Balancing, DHCP, DNS, TCP/IP, HTTP, SMTP, SSL
  • Configuration management tools (Ansible, Chef)
  • Operating level experience with Mongo DB
  • Scripting skills – Ruby, Python, Bash
  • Customer orientation and ability to work in an international distributed team
  • University Degree in Computer Science or related
  • Very good English


Skills which are a plus:

  • German language
  • Experience with QA Automation tools
  • Experience with monitoring systems: Kibana, Nagios
  • Experience with a relevant CI and CD tooling (e.g. Jenkins)
