Service System Engineer with German


This position is available in Sofia.


Software AG is increasingly focusing on managed services business by providing customers with an entire service portfolio. This portfolio consists of different services which will be managed by a managed services team, who are responsible for managing the infrastructure as well as customer’s platform related operations.



As a service engineer you will:

  • Manage customer’s environments for stability, security, and satisfaction for optimal customer experiences
  • Maintain and monitor customer environments in the area of our product stack webMethods. Plan and apply fixes, patches and upgrades
  • Provide second level technical support for our customers
  • Keep customers informed, set and follow up on commitments, keep precise case documentation and case ownership
  • Develop working knowledge of supported products and technology as well as applicable technical support debugging tools
  • Work closely with 3-rd level support teams – both internal and external



  • 2+ years of experience in system administration
  • Service oriented behavior and good communication skills to internal and external clients
  • Master or Bachelor degree in Information Technology, Computer Science, or similar
  • Excellent oral and written German communication skills
  • Very good English
  • Technical skills:
    • Experience in Networking
    • Experience in Windows or Linux administration
    • Scripting skills
    • Experience with DBMS
  • IT support and customer facing experience
  • Ability to explain complex information in an simple manner
  • Analytical and problem-solving skills
  • Customer oriented
  • Structured working method

Skills which are a plus:

  • Ability to work in a fast-paced, diverse global environment
  • Ability to work with business processes
  • Experience with Java/Java EE and Service Oriented Architectures
