Manager*, Quality Excellence (30 hours/week)



Location: Darmstadt, Germany


We are looking for personalities who will support us in meeting our customers’ requirements for the implementation of an integrated management system (with focus on quality management) at Software AG. In this role as Manager of Quality Excellence, you will work on global and cross-functional quality excellence initiatives aligned to the strategic objectives of Software AG.

This role will require an experienced process or quality manager with some experience in change, optimization, and transformation initiatives in a fast-paced growth-focused environment, using continuous improvement, design thinking, project management, agile toolset, and lean six sigma.





  • Maintain and further develop a group-wide integrated management system for Software AG
  • Plan, coordinate and evaluate internal quality management projects
  • Develop, test, approve and release process models and procedural instructions as part of the quality management system
  • Implement and control quality measures
  • Collect and evaluate information and KPIs as part of quality control
  • Support the full audit cycle globally, including risk analysis and change management over operations’ effectiveness and compliance with all applicable directives and regulations
  • Determine internal audit scope and develop annual plans
  • Identify and manage dependencies and interfaces between business functions
  • Coordinate with the quality managers of various functions in the operational areas
  • Act as an objective source of advice to ensure validity, legality, and goal achievement
  • Ensure project governance, communication, and reporting throughout the audit cycle
  • Prepare and present reports that reflect audit findings and document process
  • Identify non-conformities and recommend risk aversion measures
  • Undertake analysis of specific business processes and provide an effective solution for improvements through a combination of streamlining, automation, or organizational change.
  • Follow-up and complete the actions derived from the audit findings by coordinating with the stakeholders
  • Conduct follow up meetings to monitor management’s interventions
  • Help to coordinate and host external audits
  • Involve in follow-up actions from external audits
  • Engage to continuous knowledge development regarding standards' rules, regulations, best practices, tools, techniques, and performance standards



Requirements & Qualifications


  • Several years of experience as a quality manager or in a quality assurance function; trained as an internal auditor is also an advantage
  • Good analytical, problem solving, presentation and communication skills with a process-oriented mindset
  • Good knowledge of normative requirements as well as experience with their implementation in the context of quality management (ISO 9001 and related standards) or the willingness to familiarize oneself
  • Knowledge of information security and business continuity management is an asset
  • Knowledge in using ARIS to model processes is an advantage
  • Strong personal impact and influencing skills with proven ability to engage a range of stakeholders.
  • Experience in managing multiple stakeholders across all levels of the organization, ideally in the context of coordinating operational initiatives
  • Knowledge of continuous improvement methodologies (Agile, Design Thinking, Lean Six Sigma, etc.) enabling self-sufficiency and autonomy in process improvements
  • Experience in conducting, facilitating, and leading internal audits
  • Willingness to travel internationally
